I do not want to buy a camera online. Which store has the best in-store cameras available?
Ahh sorry I live in Southern California
Department stores like best buy and sears, are good but if you can find a real camera store it will be worth it. Cameta Camera is a camera store in. They have a large selection of cameras and accessories including used stuff as well. Plus no fence to best buy but their staff doesnt know about the cameras. the guy at best buy can read whats on the side of the box but doesnt understand it.

I got mine at walmart. It's just like the ones you would find in a best buy or something like that except alot cheaper.

You don't indicate where you reside, but I'll take a shot (pun intended).
The New York camera houses have a negative reputation, which is deserved. HOWEVER, there are two that are reputable: B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) and Adorama (www.adorama.com). Between the two, I've gone to B&H more often, partly because of their proximity to Penn Station - they're only a block away.
I don't mean to sound like a shill for either, or imply that I have any ties to them - I don't - but I wanted to share that I've had good experiences with both.
B&H has undergone renovations over the past year, and they've improved many aspects of the shopping experience. You can still handle various models and ask the staff for information. (Local radio advertising has the tagline, "You go to B&H.")
I'm not sure what you mean by "best in-store cameras," but I'm going to guess you're talking about price. Be careful here; going solely on price may not be in your best interest. On the bright side, B&H has considerable clout within the industry, in that their pricing prompts other places to follow suit. BUT, it's backed by a reputable company.

I bought mine at Ritz Camera. The sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful.

You have my sympathy for having to live in southern California, I did that one times too many.
Suggest you vet the vendors with http://www.resellerratings.com/rlist-s1-n2.html or some other local vendor rating, I found this one http://www.realestateiscool.com/frame.shtml?http://www.bizrate.com/. Also asking friends and neighbors will uncover good and bad experiences.
